First of all, I want to say a huge "thank-you" to all of my readers for being so patient with me during the delay of the release of this book. The loss of my long-time editor and friend set me back. We were in the middle of editing Love Beyond Compare�when I got the terrible news of her passing. This book has been much harder without her kind and awesome suggestions and revisions, but I believe that through all of the setbacks, it is the best yet.�

About the Author
Bethany's love of storytelling has been a life-long passion. Even in her toddler years, she would sit down with anybody that would listen as she theatrically told them fairytales as if she was sharing life-saving information. As she grew, she began creating stories of her own, but convinced it would serve her best to follow a "conventional" career path, she tucked them away and went off to college.
Fast forward four years and about six major changes later, she realized the stories simply were not going to stay tucked away. Six months away from graduating with a degree in Elementary Education, and growing more miserable with every day that brought her closer to a career she truly didn't want, she finally realized writing was the only career that was going to make her happy. So, one day in the middle of a summer education course, she got up in the middle of class and walked to the Registrar's office and withdrew from the university on the spot.Since then, she has devoted herself to writing full-time and is following her dreams. A Wonderful Romance With Plenty of Heart and Lots of Sexy Highlanders

Love Beyond Compare by Bethany Claire is easy to fall in love with. Following the story of Jane Mitchell, who was deposited in the 17th century by the witch, Morna, we are able to see that not everyone is interested in being a damsel in distress—or needs to be rescued by a strapping laird. In fact, Jane is getting rather fed up with her sedate life in a castle. This is a girl who is used to being self-sufficient and independent—not coddled. After striking out on her own (by getting a job in the local town), Jane’s life is quickly turned upside down when Adwen MacChristy walks into her life. Equally uninterested in settling down to live his life as a laird, Adwen has made it his mission to bed as many maidens as he can—and hopefully win a bet along the way. But from the moment he lays his eyes on Jane, he knows there’s something different about her. Will these two characters, from such different worlds, ever be able to make it work?
I love the Morna’s Legacy Series, it’s fun, well-written, and exactly what I want in a Scottish romance—high-spirited ladies and sexy men, with a whole tonne of characterization thrown in and a great overarching story that follows each book through and through. Jane was exactly what I love in a heroine. She’s feisty, independent and knows what she wants—and isn’t afraid to ruffle some feathers to get it. She feels more than a little bit out of place with being in the past and is looking to find her own independence in a world that strongly frowns upon women doing such things. Jane isn’t ready to be coddled, and I don’t think she ever really will be. She’s strong and willing to strike out on her own to make her own happiness—which I love. I also really enjoyed watching Adwen’s transformation from hopeless rake to dedicated lover, as it was believable and really heartfelt. It felt like a natural progression rather than a forced plot point, which is hard to do. This story is definitely personal—that is, it’s focused on the relationships between characters and not so much an outside, antagonistic force, which I enjoyed. Sometimes it’s nice to read a story that is about two seemingly opposite characters coming together under atypical circumstances and finding love—without a big bad pushing them there.
Overall, I enjoyed this story a lot. There was just one character that stuck in my mind that didn’t really resonate with me—Jane’s nephew, Connor. He just seemed a tad too wise for his age, and I would have liked the story to have had him a little bit less, but that’s a really small complaint about an otherwise really fun book, in a great series. By the end, we’re set up for the next book in the series pretty well, so I can’t wait to see where Morna’s interference takes these characters next—you really never know!
I absolutely recommend this series. If you enjoy a good Highland romance (and, really, who doesn’t?), with humorous characters with lots of heart, and plenty of sexy highlanders, then you will absolutely adore Love Beyond Compare by Bethany Claire.

I really enjoyed this series of books

I really enjoyed this series of books, but I think it is time for Ms Claire to move on. I read paranormal because once I accept the time travel I can ignore any other unbelievable events in the story. However, I am having trouble accepting that this many connected people are willing to give up modern life while none of the Highlanders want to stay in the future once they experience it.

I have read all of this series. I hope it never ends. I highly recommend this series. This is a great book and meant a lot to me personally. My favorite quote is, "Dreams, hopes, wishes - they couldn't be killed by will alone. They simply retreated beneath the surface of my heart waiting for Adwen to return."
